IMPRESSIONS OF THE "CENTRE CULTUREL" PROJECT IN BAMBIDIE, GABON

Approximately 3,500 people live in the village of Bambidie, including about 800 school-age children. All of them are our employees with their family members. Since there are no major cultural offerings in the region, we launched the "Centre Culturel" project, which aims to provide the local population with a space for events and meetings.

The goal was to establish a library with books for children and young people as well as magazines for adults. We also wanted to provide a few games and cosy corners to read. There is an area with computers, where computer courses are also offered. The second room will be used for various events such as dance classes, etc.

Here are a few of the stages to completion:

Some time passed from planning to completion, but it was worth it.

Ultimately, this is a project of the local population – for the local population. Precious Woods took the initiative and provided the necessary resources and infrastructure.

But the planning and implementation of events is the responsibility of the organising committee, 100% of which is made up of local employees and residents. This committee has an annual budget at its disposal.
